Well, it’s finally open for use.

The Day Room is still under construction, but it’s now ready for us. We held our first Super Bowl Party this past weekend and, even though the weather was on the nasty side, there were a few people who showed up and enjoyed a great night.

Unless they were Colts fans.

You Gotta See It!

There are improvements to be made. Such as putting in a counter top, two half walls to separate the pool table from the main area, and also replacing the floor under the pool table. We’re filling in the ceiling with tiles and adding new insulation.

For those of you who have not seen the room, well, you really need to get in and see it! We’ve really cleaned it up, torn out a wall and thrown some paint on the walls—which is a light grey (in case you’re wondering). We have a nice, big, 50" plasma TV, a BluRay DVD player, and a satellite hook-up for all your viewing needs.

Events!

Our next event is the Daytona 500 on the 14th of February. So, all you race fans come on in—get there early to get in on the pool, draw a starting position, and follow your driver for the race.

There will be more events coming up as we set up regular hours. Come out; bring up to three guests, and shoot some bull (and pool) with your fellow Legionnaires.

You Can Help

Please don't forget that we still need things to adorn the walls. Another thing going up are emblems of each military branch; under each will be a board to place the patch or emblem of the unit or units in which you served. If there’s anything else you would like to see on the walls—pictures, objects from the different eras and wars, and anything else that represents your service and the sacrifices of others—bring them in.

See you all there, and if you have any questions, contact me, Travis Colgin.
