It was great to see so many of our members present at our April meeting.
Poppy Day
Poppy Day will be held on May 22nd and 23rd at our usual location outside the ABC store on Laburnum Ave. These poppies are made by Veterans in the VA Hospital at Hampton, VA. We purchase them and ask for donations from the people on Poppy Day.
We DO NOT sell poppies; we ask if the public like to make a DONATION. We use donations from these poppies to purchase items for our Veterans at McGuire VA Hospital. This money is used only for the Veterans.
If any of our Legionnaires and Auxiliary members would help us staff a two hour shift on either days would be a big help. We need to staff two-hour shifts between 10:00 A.M.–6:00 P.M. Call Evelyn Crouch (737.1681) to volunteer; if she isn’t available, please leave a message.
Remember: Our Veterans Keep Us Free.
Memorial Day
Memorial Day service at the Virginia War Memorial will be held on Memorial Day May 25 at 10:00 A.M.
