Commander JohnsonComrades, your Post now has a website. You may access it by going to http//battlefieldspost144.net. In the very near future, you will be able to get your newsletter electronically, find information about your post and its activities, link to other American Legion sites, and find other information important to Veterans. We welcome your suggestions for additions and improvements. Our Public Information Officer, Don White, is the Webmaster and the go-to guy for the Web site.

Baseball

Post #144 will be fielding an American Legion Baseball team again this year and we will be coming back to Bailey Field in Highland Springs for our home games. We are looking for Sponsors to help with the ever increasing cost. If you or anyone you know can help us out, please let us know. We will see to it that our sponsors receive recognition for their support.

Boy’s State & Girl’s State

In June, we will be sending at least 3 young men to American Legion Boys State and 3 young ladies to Girls State. We are also seeking community support to enable us to send additional participants. This is an tremendous citizenship experience for these young people and will benefit all of us for years to come.

Virginia Convention

The American Legion Department of Virginia Convention is in Richmond this July. We will have more information in the May newsletter. We hope many of you take advantage of this opportunity to attend without having to travel and pay for a hotel room.

Post Elections

We will be presenting our Slate of Officers for the 2009–2010 year at our May meeting and we will hold elections at our June meeting. Come on out and join us. Come early; we’ll have food and beverage for you. We’d love to see you.

Thanks for being a part of Post #144.
